In the Summer of 2010, WQED Multimedia and the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh are entering into a unique partnership to educate the children and parents of our region about science, technology and discovery. PBS KIDS Raising Readers presents the WORD OF THE DAY. This new feature gives preschoolers a chance to learn a new word with their favorite PBS KIDS characters from SESAME STREET, BETWEEN THE LIONS, WORDWORLD, SUPER WHY and MARTHA SPEAKS.
The multimedia module features the word and its definition, an audio read-aloud from a PBS KIDS character and a video clip showing the word in action. The module can be watched at home with a parent, or at school or daycare with a teacher or caregiver.
